Join the Equine Science Center Party during Ag Field Day at Rutgers Day Center celebrates its 10th Anniversary on Saturday, April 30
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (April 20, 2011) – The Rutgers Equine Science Center will
celebrate its 10th anniversary during Ag Field Day at Rutgers Day on
Saturday, April 30 at the Red Barn on College Farm Road and Sheepfold Lane. The festivities
begin with the annual Horse Show at 10:00 am presented by Young Horse
Teaching and Research Program (YHTRP). Students enrolled in the YHTRP will
present the two and three-year-old mustangs in a series of horse show
grooming and showmanship classes which includes leading at a walk and
trot. This is an excellent opportunity for potential buyers to see the
mustangs in action prior to the mustang auction on Sunday, May 1. The activities
continue with lively and engaging programs. Experience the thrilling
demonstration of a horse galloping at full speed on the 21-foot equine
exercise physiology treadmill. This demo is sure to get one’s
adrenaline-pumping and heart-racing! The Center will have two treadmill
demonstrations: 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. One lucky participant will win a
gift bag from the Equine Science Center and Rick’s Saddle Shop prior to
each demonstration. Space is limited in the treadmill lab; be sure to
arrive early. While horses
are running on the treadmill inside, party with the Equine Science Center
outside. Help celebrate 10 years of “Better Horse Care through Research
and Education.” Come for the cake, stay for the treadmill demo, and grab a
few party favors, too! Remember to go to the stall side of the Red Barn
after the horse show for a family weigh-in, which is always a crowd
pleaser. For additional
